COGNITIVE COACHING

The goal of Cognitive CoachingSM training is to develop one’s identity and capacity as a Mediator of Thinking

Effective leaders are adaptive and can adjust their leadership based on the situation and the person they are leading.  And while traditional models of leadership such as consulting, evaluating, collaborating, and mentoring are important, these models are incomplete.  Exceptional leaders are coaching leaders.

Over the course of this eight-day seminar, participants will observe, experience, and practice coaching through practical application of essential coaching tools such as paraphrasing, pausing, and posing mediative questions.  Specifically, participants will:

  • Increase consciousness and craftsmanship in applying interpersonal communication;

  • Internal three different conversation maps to support mediated thinking;

  • Deepen skills in questioning, paraphrasing, and attuning for human uniqueness;

  • Understand the role of feedback in mediating thinking;

  • Develop skills in detecting and mediating cognitive shift.

This eight-day seminar is usually offered over 9-12 months and can be offered in several different configurations. Please contact me for ideas on the best way to offer it within your organization.
